Beware of Thieves!-A

(Time Management: A. External Thieves)

  1. Unexpected or prolonged phone calls.
  2. Coworkers (colleagues/classmates) stopping by to discuss their problems or just to chat.
  3. Open door policy or the duty to be available.
  4. Visitors, clients, unexpected suppliers.
  5. Poorly trained or incompetent personnel (especially inadequate secretarial help).
  6. The boss, or worse, several bosses.
  7. Business lunches, promotional cocktail parties, and other entertainment for outside visitors.
  8. Personal or family business.
  9. Maintenance, machine repairs (cars, washing machines, television, computers)
  10. Appointments (doctor’s, music lessons, sports) for the children and chauffeuring them.
  11. Housework, errands, cooking.
  12. Interruptions by one’s children (or one’s parents).
